Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

oops, have now, so might as well do something useful with it.

12 miler this morning, mix of on and off road. aiming for nice easy 9:30 pace, and brought it in at averge of 9:25 with pretty constant splits, even over the hills, thanks to garmin VP. First 10 miles felt great, really comfotable. Last mile legs were like lead. Not sure if it was last weeks race or my head, but that last mile HURT.

Birchwood 10k, tough race!. My time: 42.42. Very flat with a couple of hills at the 7k mark. I found it difficult at times to push myself and concentrate as every road looked the same!, just tarmac, grass and roundabouts. Pain in my right calf muscle but no excuses, i ran as well as i could on the day.
10K's are always fast and furious and i come into my own at longer distances. Speaking with people after the race the impression was that this is not a fast course for a PB. Nice "pink towel" at the finish and flowers for the Ladies.

My run was a shocker. A painful attempt at 9M PMP. You can see my blog for details.

I'm putting it down to sickness and stuff because it made no sense. How could I have been that knackered?

Pity it had to happen one week before the marathon :o(

Max - I think it's best not to mention the race to Shiraz - I made it clear of transition before she even got out of the water! She made a bit of a tactical mistake going wetsuit free in order to save time in transition and she got left way behind on the swim :o) Don't worry, though - she's still giving me plenty of grief about how she came 1st in her age group while I only came 3rd...

Still smiling here though :o)
