Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The dividend of patience, riggsy - pleased you're back again. :)

Bowman, grass, trail or beach are usually less affected by ice - hence my usual routes!

Steve BR - did you read reports of problems associated with the permafrost melting?

Tonight, 8.30pm cool, v light breeze, and a starry, dark blue sky lit by a vivid moon. Beach up to Burbo Bank, then trails for the return leg. An hour earlier, and more people - and dogs - than I ever see later on. An hour.

Thanks swittie not quite 100% but enough for easy running
Today (Tuesday 11/1)

100 press ups (split into 5*20) with my back and core exercises

2 mile run straight after back exercises

Legs felt good did notice I had ran yesterday

Amazing the difference an hour in the evening can make to the amount of people out swittie

No, I didn't see that, swittle. I'm only a bit north of Scotland so it doesn't impact my running :) Today was as expected: another 13 km at +4C alternating between totally clear gritted pavement and very treacherous patches of compacted snow and ice lubricated by a layer of water. Glad that I had spikes on after all, this time transferred into a pair of Peregrines. Felt hot wearing longs - I usually wear shorts regardless, but I was getting fed up with looks. Must resist the pressure to conform :)

Nice running

Today was a rest day from running and a slightly different approach to my strength work
Combined a few bits to 20 press-ups

Back exercises

20 press-ups

Back exercises

20 press-ups

3 * 15 calf raises left leg
3 * 15 calf raises right leg
3 * 10 Nordic hamstring curls
Alphabet leg stand each leg

The back exercises overlap a bit with some core and hamstring exercises

Trying to move from rehab to pre hab with a plan to include more exercises for different areas on different days built on a basis of the back exercises

Nice work everyone!

Feels like I lost everything, back to zero/couch potato. I’m still weak, but I had a hint of energy today.
Will do slow easy short runs until my energy is back. And then it will feel wonderful, so focusing on that now :)

Good 8.5k.
Didn't intend to go too far as I was saving myself for parkrun on Saturday, but I decided to just go for it.
Nice cool evening and good pace

8.30pm Cool, v light breeze, more moonlight. Beach loop, bisect lakes, trails to docks, and a longer sandy stretch to the baths; trails back to base. 71 min - longer - in time - than for a good while.

Today was about the same as yesterday, 13 km with spikes in about 4C, except there was less ice and I wore shorts.

I saw a woman exercising with walking poles and spikes dragging a tyre on a glazed path. Maybe she was training for pulling a pulk (sled) on skis or something. I often see people on roller-skis in the summer.
