Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

well done bigleggy!!

i dont think i have run that far without at least a short break either, i usually have to have a quick walk break after 5 miles and then every 2 miles or so after that.

although maybe thats more psychological than anything, cause i only stop for about 30s at a time?

You've got 3 months, you'll be fine BL. 8 miles is a good length to build on, but don't get too carried away and try to add 2 miles too often. Build up gradually and 13.1 miles will seem like a walk in the park :)

Well done BL.keep it up!

Riga..a HR monitor would tell you if its psychological or not..but I don,t think it matters anyway.

Riga - have you tried dropping down to a really slow jog rather than walking?

i did manage to run a full 6 miles when i did that, katie

RE - my HR monitor is a cheapie and gives wildly fluctuating results even when its properly wetted. but you are right it probably doesn't matter too much in the grand scheme of things

As long as you are covering the distance and spending the time on your feet it really doesn't matter if you need a walking break now and again anyway :)
