Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Welcome to the thread Gene (I always tell people I come from somewhere between Life on Mars and Shameless. True fact.)

Mrs Jigs - that is a stormin' start. You are a lot fitter - and race fitter than you thought. Form is temporary, class is permanent! :-)

Only thing to report here is that this year I've been injured and missed Vets meets for the first time ever (well since I started attending them age abut 53) I've only run ONE competitive 100 and ONE competitive 200 this year!

Just when I thought I was getting back to race sharp I twisted my ankle and couldn;t run my 'come back' 100.

It did have the weird knock on effect of producing my best THROWS for quite a while. I usually am rushing from on event to another: sprints - jumps- throws - so it was an eye opener to just concentrate on one thing. Best javelin for three years! SB on discus and currently (shock!) 4th in my W65 UK category. Am ridiculously proud of this because I'm quite slight and not really a thrower.

That knock on effect is something to ponder Sharkie, we've always said maybe you do too much at your meets, but 4th in the rankings is a magnificent achievement for 'not really a thrower'!

Glad to read Mrs Jigs' post too :-)
