Glad to hear you are making good progress Sharkie, sounds like you are being really sensible.
I did the same route in February at 3min per mile slower so shows that I am improving, felt tough today but not as tough as the last time, I did a 14+ mile off road last week but that involved a lot of walking as footpaths across farmers fields were overgrown with crops in some areas, all good though, planned a shorter run next week then the very hilly North Downs 30k on the 30th.

I’ve had what I think is going to be diagnosed as runners’ knee (seeing my consultant on 25th after x-rays and a scan to confirm) which I first noticed in June last year. It’s not been bad enough to stop me running but I think it’s been bothering me enough to go cautiously a lot. I’ve done no hills or speed training and I suspect that’s why I’ve slowed down so much. It’s loads better now though so I’m doing Project Joker to see if I can get some form back.

Good progress, Mrs J. Sorry to welcome you to the Dodgy Knee Club, jennywren - hope it continues to heal for you.
Mine's niggling again - I had a slight muscle pull in my right thigh, and running to accommodate that seems to have set the left knee back a bit. I've noticed people look at you a bit strangely when you start swearing at your own legs.

Haha yes. I’m hoping to do Yorkshire Marathon jabberknit - did I see that was your aim too?

Yes, jennywren, hoping to do it again this year. My favourite marathon and my PB course, though haven't been anywhere near the PB for a couple of years.

They'd be even more startled if the legs swore back, Jabberknit.

Knees. Harrumph. That's pretty much all I have to say on the matter
This may sound a bit daft but I'm thinking of following a couch to 5k plan to try and get rid of my mental block about non-stop running. Since my foot neuroma and dodgy knee I've become prey to the 'I can't really do this' demons. I think if I build up my running a few minutes at a time I might actually get through a parkrun without walking

Very good idea, Daisy. C25K got me back running.
(Neither far nor fast, but running is running).
