Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
Another successful week of marathon training completed, a third of the way through now, did 15 miles round Rutland Water again, felt a lot stronger this time and pace average was 7 seconds per mile faster
How is everyone else doing?

Wow Mrs.J, 7 seconds per mile faster is quite something. Have you found your serious running fitness returned pretty quickly once you put your mind to it?
I know 'putting your mind to it' means putting the effort in!

Just one senior league meet left for me this year, plus a couple of Opens I might do.

It has returned fairly quickly Sharkie, although on average for tempo runs the pace is nowhere near what it used to be, I guess age does have a certain impact, at least I am recovering very quickly so my body is adapting to higher intensity of training.
How are things with you now?

Really rubbish season for me - I have to laugh it's been so disrupted one way or another!

Ran a league 5 miler last night just about as fast as my little old leggies would currently go and managed to get a 69.69 WAVA. So so close to my 3rd 70 for a Fetch Silver Standard. But not quite close enough. Bugger!
There are some very speedy F60s in our league - I was 11th out of 18 in 46:54. The fastest finished in 37:40. Have to say though, I do feel I'm getting more competitive again and am even contemplating working on my speed to try and get a bit nearer the top end of the 18!

69.69 is pretty bloody good, jabber! And such a nice number.
By the time we reach 60 I reckon only real keenies keep going with running/athletics/cycling etc etc, so there's a bigger proportion of the smaller pool who are seriously fast/good whatever.

Ta, Sharkie.
Happy Birthday, Mrs Jigs - you're very young and you've got a long, long way to go before you get to my Mum's age, as it's her 90th today.
