Phew ... did blocks today at Lee Valley with coach. I very nearly caved in re using blocks, purely down to my age. But really, really, really, never say never - I AM still improving - you can start as late as your late 50s.

I started at 50 but didn’t really get going until I was 55 or 56. Then I ran London Marathon, as you do.

I think many over 60s didn't start running 'til their 50s (hence not bored with it yet?) I'm just saying one can continue to learn new physical skills well BEYOND that.
I haven't had time this year - too busy with the new skills of long jumping properly - but at 66-67 I'm going to re-tackle high jump which I did for the first time ever at 55. This makes me pretty happy!

Oh I agree. If you don’t have physical limitations then there’s no reason not to carry on learning and improving.

New physical skills are really good for your brain too - that's why dancing is recommend for codgers!

I went back to horseriding at 60, not having done it for years and years. Ended up doing dressage (very entry level stuff) and loved it. Haven't tackled anything new for a while - must have a go at something physical.

Quick update on my marathon training, part way through week 3 now, last Sunday I took part in North Downs 30k, a tough, hilly run that I last did in 2016 in 3:11 after a good block of training which included a marathon, this year I predicted 3.30 however completed in 3:09!
Mind you I walked rather funny on Monday but was able to do the 10mile MLR on Tuesday without to much difficulty once I had got past 2 miles.
