Dickie York Did this race about 3 years ago and came 3rd to my great surprise.
Had a lot of hard races in the last month, so see how it goes.  Great course to run.
Finished in 3rd place again!
The head wind during almost the whole race didn't help, spent about 25 miles on my own, so nobody to hide behind!
I had forgotten just how hard the last down hill section was, jelly legs at the bottom of the hill, spent the mile along the canal willing my legs not to cramp.
Great day out and a loverly course, few more water stops would have been good.

Watford Wobble In good shape to have a pop at sub 3:30.  Race number 32.

Start of 180 runners and me in 36 place.  Ran to hard from miles 5 - 7 as this has a gradual incline that is deceptive.  Also the head wind was an added hinderance.  Several runners I started with backed off and then took me late at mile 19 - 21.  Should have taken easier this section.  Started to feel tired and achy from miles 19 and pace slowed to 8:15's or thereabouts.  Two down hill sections my knees and left upper foot didn't care for.  Gels every 4 miles with very little water taken.  Next time run to 7 miles at 8MM pace and be disciplined in this then 7 - 19 up to 7:45MM.  Work miles 19 onwards and especially the down hills.
