Krukers Much better than usual 1st K, as started nearer front so not held up by slower runners. Kept it together for 5k then had a couple of slow ones (4.08 ,4.05), but finished fairly strongly. Friut loaf in the goody bag- whoo hoo!.Didn't see any of my mates running. Swansea Harriers AC 38:14 38:43 38:43 77.39
Mountainmat In 2006 this was my first ever race. I ran 47:28 and would love to beat that time by 10 minutes. I wrote the last sentence about 4 months ago, its now the day before the race, no chance of meeting that goal, I will be satisfied with sub 41 minutes, but I can still dream. I had a very good race and am very happy with my time. Hermitage Harriers RC 37:35 38:36 39:59 39:22 67.06

s3tjj GUTTED! Really thought I could break 40min. Think I paid for it by going to fast for first 3k - 3'30''/km - should have kept it just under 4'/km Taf Running & Orienteering (TROTS) 38:58 41:44 40:00 42:13 63.36

Grid Well it wasn't as hot as last year, but it was definitely warm and muggy. I was aiming for a 51:30 PB but came home in a disappointing 57:02. My legs felt tired from the word go, and my HR was much higher than I was expecting - I'm thinking that I must have a mild case of the lurgi. It was a real struggle from the start and I'm just pleased that I got round without walking, and that I managed to beat my time from last year. Also, absolutely had to stop for a quick wee at the half way point. I guess things can't go right at every race. Even though that's two very hard races in two years, I'm still coming back next year because it's a wonderful race.
