I've got a second hand pair of spikes, they're like brand new. Never worn them, though. Prefer running XC in my Walshs, so much easier if there's any road / hard packed trail on the course.

2nd of the East League XC races today. It seems like there are no other females going so neither am I, no point in going along to make up team numbers if there's no team. I was 5th last at the last one so it's not like I did much for the team anyway. I quite like XC but don't like being crap at it...

Well done Alex, maybe you will get to love XC now. Take it from me, when you are a bit older you will appreciate how much kinder it is to your joints than road racing.

I last for last 3k or so this afternoon, never caught anyone after that. But I was 6 seconds quicker than last year in same race, so I was happy :-)

SPR if there were more 'open' Xc races about here I would but the majority are team-driven events and not many in our club are up for XC. I ended up taking myself up to the hilly woods this afternoon and did my own personal cross-country. I think I'd have been cleaner if I'd gone to the race!! :)
