I'm doing the Nationals, ho ho ho it still makes me laugh typing those words.

Sole aim to enjoy it (I always enjoy XC really) and try not to come completely last. Should be a good day out, even if there is a lack of sporting achievements.

We had the Birmingham League at Stafford common today, I went to cheer the ladies team on - initially was gutted not to run (doing Stamford 30k tomorrow) but the look on those peoples faces after even one lap I think I had the better option.... they changed the course due to part of it beng underwater!

That's no good, we had to go through a longish knee deep puddle on Wednesday's cc twice.

I did wonder why they had closed it off really, as far as I'm concerned XC is XC but I think in this case runners would have needed flippers and a snorkel

proper x-c this year ;-) Looking forward to next week, just very happy a) that it's only 5m and b) that we go before the lads and get to churn it up for *them* instead of vice versa!

Only just removed the mud/clay/cement from my spikes post Southerns in the bog at Hillingdon, so at least I know where my 15s are hiding....

Can't wait til Saturday! Just hope it's not quite so much of a bog-fest as the Southerns!!! :) Anyone know the timing of the races?

That's cos we are hard BM ;-)

I can't see Parliament Hill being anything but at least a muddy as the Southerns.

Running bits of the course tomorrow evening on my club run so I'll try and remember to let you know but you can safely assume it's going to be pretty boggy, particularly at the base of the hills.

Looking forward to this, it will feel quite different to have no expectations to perform well or come in well placed, treating it as a strength training run.
