Glad you still got a fast run in, Peacey.
Thanks for the congrats. I'll definitely go faster in the last race of the year, particularly if I can manage to stay upright...! Can't believe I fell again today...
No fatigue after last Sunday as it really was run easily. I had slight DOMS on Monday, but still was able to run and I was back to my normal in the last Friday 5k in Hyde Park on Friday.
Yes, we'll be at Wokingham. It's definitely a quick half - although try and get reasonably close to the front to avoid getting trampled at the start!

So now we have true XC weather, Croydon Council go and cancel our last race of the season at Lloyd Park on Saturday - I was looking forward to that!

I know Tiger - what a load of rubbish. It's XC - what's the worst that would happen to us?? Frostbite? I could do with less toes to be honest!

It's crazy isn't it. Obviously whoever took the decision doesn't run. Otherwise they'd close every XC race on grounds of health and safety. Ludicrous

I think it really is ludicrous. Hillingdon is as bad as it would get down south. Lloyd park would have been a dream XC - just a bit more wet, that's all.
They will probably reschedule it for summer now...stupidoos.

Cross country in the summer.....bliss.....!!
They've cancelled the Schools Intercounties in Croydon on Saturday as well which is a pretty big event to cancel.
Unless the ground is very hard and very icy, they shouldn't really be cancelling events.

Just read that a fell race is off on Saturday due to snow. As it is a nocturnal race I guess they thought it'd be to easy to fnd your way in the snow

with the schools it will be the travelling problems i expect, rather than the course. not very fair on teams from cornwall or newcastle if they can't get there.
we haven't lost a race to bad weather but we did lose a course. there was a brilliant XC in Caulke Abbey, a national trust place, but the last time we ran it the ground was soaked and we buggered up their footpaths. end of permit. my favourite bit was the stream crossing - on the first lap about knee deep, on the second i wondered why people kept falling over in it until it was my turn. the mud had been so stirred up that it was now waist deep and you just stopped dead below the waist, but carried on at the top.
