Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hang on I have worn short spikes at Parliament Hill. But it was on the track ;-)

It wasn't that bad, I was wearing short spikes, couple of tricky moments but more than made up for these through the harder sections at the top of the course.

I had a good run on Parliament Hill too. My first time there and while I can't say I enjoyed the actual race, I'm pleased with my performance. Finished 89th (or 83rd scorer, whatever). I wore 12mm spikes and found them totally fine. Looking forward to the National in Feb!

I'll be turning up at East Anglian league fixture at Whitlingham tomorrow. But not likely to take it too hard, I shall only be leaving work 45 minutes before start so warm up will be minimal.

Good luck!

I've now done 2 races and I'm already brimming with excitement at racing on the road again- surely it'll seem like a doddle compared to hilly, muddy, grassy stuff! Or doesn't it work like that?

The muddiest Oxford Mail XC league race this weekend - Culham. It's a motocross course and is possibly the most hideous running conditions I've ever known. I always do best here out of all the league races though - I was just pipped for first place last year by the 800m runner behind me (there's always one!). It's far from enjoyable though!!

I'm doing a 10mile XC race on Saturday. I don't know why though. I am terrified that I will be last...
