Mudfest indeed, never been so covered in mud! I didn't realise that gravelly path coming into the finish was spike friendly till the last lap so actually ran in more mud than I needed to as well!
Looking at my log, the last time I did Leamington was 2013 and I think that's the time I did my foot/ ankle in the woods so this the first time I've done the new course. 4 mins faster than the old course though so some of that is fitness.

Nice work. I almost came to watch but an ear infection, cold and conjunctivitis meant I opted to watch Edinburgh on the telly!

Leamington a course I miss for sure.
No run for me up here, not sure I could enter counties or equivalent if club doesn't? We won't be doing nationals again either as a tri club so folks not so fussed beyond local league it seems.
Back to league next weekend, new MACCL fixture course not far from home at all, jogged the trails it's likely to cover today getting nice and muddy as a few others must be doing similarly!

Think you can enter individually. Some of our runners run for Worcestershire even though or club is part of Warwickshire.

Cheers SPR I will look into options for next year. I don't want to change club but at the same time I miss the bigger xc races other clubs participate in.

The last time it was explained to me - Entry to the county CCs is based on residence (6-9+ months?) or birth, so I could enter as an individual Warwickshire or Cambridgeshire even though my Club is Worcestershire based that part doesn't matter. And they use weird county boundaries so a lot of the Brum clubs are in Worcs. You can only run at one county CC a year.

...but league races do depend on what club you belong to the club pays the entry to the league subs (you have to belong to a club to run league races not ever heard of anyone entering as an individual there)

That's how it was explained to me too. We do have 'guest' runners at our league races but they are asked to step out at the finish so they don't have a place.

Yep. And certainly league rules might be different in other areas (I've only ever run XC in midlands) I know that in parts of East Angular leagues the men and ladies run the same race at the same time. (We only get to do that in the XC relays)

Our league races are men & women together and same distance - though I think some of our courses are getting a bit crowded so that might have to change to a staggered start (so I've heard!)
