I'm unlikely to ever run there anyway as I don't do the Midlands or National champs.

Word is that the 2017 National is the last time it'll be at Wollaton Park, because of the cost, mess, etc. That said, apparently the XC Relays weren't going to be at Mansfield EVER AGAIN after 2013, and they still are...

Rubbish XC for me today. Was a little under the weather but nothing too bad after rest and recuperation yesterday. First 4.75 miles went OK, then just as I was thinking about emptying the tank on the last mile or so, was struck down by a stitch. Lost about 30 places over that stretch.
Annoying, but I know I'm in decent shape and I've got another 5 weeks to get into better shape for the next one.

Heaton Park here. Great fun, paced it well. Think I was bang on 100th finisher.

Must have been loads of us doing XC today surely. Warwickshire XC champs for me today.Didn't feel the sharpness I usually feel when going into races, think my body might be absorbing the mileage increase from the last couple of weeks (46, 51 and a down week of 39 this week which would have been a big week 12 weeks ago and was around standard for the last 12. Also had a niggle this week. Still it was a decent race, they can't all be great. Quite a bit faster than I've done at Leamington in the past but course has changed since I last did it I believe.

I was at Leamington today too, SPR! Mudfest galore, such fun! It was the same as we've done for Midlands league the last few years, although they missed out the ditch back in the autumn due to lack of rain - today it was back to its usual glory!!
