Fantastic run at Coulsdon today. Our team was 5th (joint fourth on points but that one woman who passed me late on was in the fourth team drat!).
32nd overall (26th first division) which is my best performance ever. Hopefully can run that well at the nationals. Where the technical course suits me well

Congrats Oi you, and great running Curly.
I had an ok race yesterday, but started too fast and had a lull in the middle where I felt dead. A teammate bearing down on me, snapped me out of that though, and I ran at a decent pace the rest of the way. A smarter race may have meant I'd have beaten a teammate who finished well ahead of me last time.
XC over for me now. Road relays the target next (end of March) and I'm thinking of doing a race in between.

Well done OY, Curly and SPR
I had a stormer at Wolves yesterday, ahead of both my Halesowen nemeses' from the start, and pleased to have to wait a while to see them come in to the funnel. Had a great battle with a girl from Sparkhill, she had the edge but I will be gunning for her at the national! This pattern seems to happen every year, first races in season Im still in recovery from an autumn marathon, and as Xmas approaches in to new year I start moving up the placings. Think spring marathon training actually helps too.
Lets hope no disaster happens with this national, 2013 Sunderland = norovirus, 2014 = wrote off car en route to Nottingham.

Well done ndellar Thought it was a great course at Wolverhampton, apart from a couple of places where the ground was rutted and still frozen (ouch!). I probably ran my best xc on Saturday too. Think I get more confident as the season progresses and probably fitter, due to more off road running. Good luck at the Nationals - hopefully, third time lucky

Good luck all running at the English National XC tomorrow!
Earlier on this week I was left wondering if the National kiss of death had struck again - pain from a filling I had re-done in Jan had me back at the dentists it seems it's just an infection and I don't want to speak too soon but I think the antibiotics have kicked in as I'm feeling better. I don't know if I will be on top form, but I'll give it a go - any problems I will jog round the rest of the way and just enjoy

oi you
Just an infection! Not a phrase I've ever used. Hope you have a good run. It could be quite moist under-foot tomorrow.

I've set the course for Sunday in the East Midlands league, about 12" deep at the moment in the moist areas and a wet and windy forecast. Perfect

Ha! I say 'only' because I was expecting injections, drilling etc and came away with some tablets and industrial strength mouthwash
Its certainly rained a lot in the midlands, potential to be a mudfest today
