That's great, Minimag. I hope you have a strong run in Edinburgh.

I've broken 1:40 three times in 2016 and 2018.

My PB is 1:38:02 in the Anglesey half which is fairly hilly. I hope I can get back down to sub 1:40 or even set a new PB on a flat course.

tipsku I think you already have the speed and endurance for sub 1:38 on the flat (obviously factoring in your marathon recovery) - often a 1:36-1:37 half is mentioned as a time that would convert to sub 3:30.

auburnette I hope you're right with the reverse conversion. Usually, people do that the other way round, run a half to get an idea what a realistic marathon pace would be. Now I'm looking at a realistic HM pace based on my marathon result. If I had a half somewhere near me at the end of the month, that would be really interesting.

I haven't been under 1:40 since 2013. Too old, fat and broken now, so time to leave this group.

At the tender age of 56, I've snuck under 1:40 for the first time this year. Twice! Woohoo!! Current PB of 1:36:18 and hoping to make it three from three on Nov 5th. Then it'll be time to sleep, for a couple of months, I reckon.

Congrats on your double PB, Mark J and on finally cracking the 1:40. I'm sure you can make it 3 from 3. Stay happy and healthy :)

After 5 years, I'm finally back in sub 1:40 territory. I had my last double in 2018 when I ran a 1:38:5x and a 1:39:3x in Anglesey and Öpfingen. After a pandemic and thyroid surgery, I'm down to 1:37:42 in the Leipzig Half. Consistent training pays off.
