That's really crap PLK! Need Vrap to come along (or other medic) with some suggestions ...or getting another appointment and quoting them the NICE guidelines....

My experience was that HRT really helped with my anxiety and insomnia. I honestly think that if I hadn't gone back onto it I would have resigned from my job! But for balance my friend who is going through the menopause now has no symptoms at all. I'm very grateful for how good my doctor was, it's unacceptable to make getting HRT a lottery. |

That's not OK, PLK. You could ask for a gynecology referral. It shouldn't be necessary for straightforward HRT initiation and monitoring, but some GPs (including some who fancy themselves as experts in women's health) are irrationally scared of HRT.

I have been on HRT for 16 years due to early menopause and they are quite happy with me continuing for now. It has kept me mostly sane as I thought I was losing my mind. Not looking forward to coming off it.

I think I would be jail by now if I wasn’t on HRT. I don’t even want to think what sweats and wearing a mask would be like . I resisted starting due to breast cancer and my mother dying at 57 ( I will be 57 next month ) but sat with a really good GP and we weighed up the pros and cons.

Is it normal to get some of the symptoms of perimenopause (hot flushes, erratic periods, brain fog and anxiety in my case) for a few months, and then go away again for several more months? It’s happened to me twice so far.
