Wetherby inaugural had about 160. That was a bit less than 3 years ago and we have a fair number of parkruns locally. We still get less than 100 every week while York get up to 600. It may be because it’s not really accessible by public transport, or because it’s on grass, but I don’t really know why. I was in Bakewell the last few days and actually walked along the Monsal Trail in the snow yesterday. I thought it was unlikely to take place. It’s also not particularly wide for a large number of people and I think the inaugural would have been unpleasantly crowded. |

Meglet, I'd hope the Bakewell inaugural wouldn't be unpleasantly crowded if people are sensible and respect the core team's request for a low key start and that tourists stay away.

St Neots must be one of the largest places still without parkrun. I lived there for years and it would be good to visit.

Letchworth could do with a low key start too as there's not much parking or facilities there. Anyway I'm giving the test run a go the week before so I'll see how it goes.

Hmm. Kilmarnock, Paisley, East Kilbride, Cumbernauld, Airdrie, Stirling, Glenrothes. There's seven Scottish towns with bigger populations than St Neots without a parkrun. Still a lot of room for expansion up here even without getting into more out of the way places.
