I'm not allowed to advertise the start date for the inaugural Mole Valley parkrun at Denbies Vineyard near Dorking as the Run Directors have asked for a low key first event. I can appreciate that as I visited Tooting Common on Saturday & they ran out of finish tokens as they had a record 812 runners. However, I can tell you that it will start sometime in the Spring as planning permission to expand Denbies overflow parking came through in October.

Why so many at Tooting last week. That’s 500 more than recent weeks. Even with the usual spike in numbers on the first Saturday after New Year’s, that a big increase.

And similar with neighbouring Brockwell. Though as it is Tooting Common's 100th next week, maybe a question for the regular parkrun thread ;-).

Seen in Bressay related chat, active plans for Orkney and preliminary moves afoot for Thurso. Medium to long term before either are seen, I would think. Bressay has an issue which will limit numbers somewhat: it is £5.60 return for the seven-minute ferry crossing. Only £1 for Shetland Island OAPs and under-19s, which may result in some interesting demographics for the run. |

Good to hear about Thurso. They have a brilliant club scene up there, so I've always been surprised that there wasn't one earlier. Nice wee tourism potential for me.
