When I was running faster I twice volunteered for 18 minute pacer. It proved completely pointless as nobody ever followed me. I now only do 20+. Makes sense if events only have 20+ vests 🤔

Was at an event recently where the 44min pacemaker had nobody around them, so decided to speed up and finish well ahead of the 42 min pacer. Unfortunately, I'd heard two people earlier say that if they could keep the 44 vest in sight then they might break 45 mins for the first time. People don't need to be next to you for you to be useful to them.

Indeed. Pacing 35, I'd little trade, but afterwards a couple of runners came and thanked me, because their aim had been to keep me in sight for 36 or so.

At Llanishen Park we do them every time the event number is a multiple of 10. Depending if we decide to do NYD or not (which is likely), the next one will be January 3rd or 10th.

I know, it's a run not a race, but pacing events at parkrun can be great, I often run as a pace...
