First run since last Wednesday (some stupid football for the works 'Family Fun Day' and some gardening with a mean 'weedy whacker' have got in the way since then).
My knees just started off so incredibly creaky. It took about 1.5k before they actually loosened up and I felt that I was running freely. Once I got going it was great - even a few spots of nice cooling rain near the end.
About 1k from the end we passed a bloke who was just putting a large suitcase in the boot of his car. "Oh how lovely" we thought "someone going on holiday" Then he turns round and screams at his missus "and this time I won't be coming back" Oooops - head down, keep going - nothing to see here, move along.

woops indeed!!!
My run today was far less eventful. First run in a couple of weeks. Had intended to run while on holiday but WAY too hot. Really enjoyed it today though even though I got caught in teh rain & had to avoid all the obsesive Kirkpatrick Macmillan people, most of whom looked at me in a very odd way, you would think they'd never seen a fat bird running before!

I did a hard fast 30 min on the mtb this morning then went out for a quick 3 miles this evening. For some reason I couldn't run I was absolutly knackered I ended up doing a kind of interval training just to get me round. Maybe I need to rest up a bit

I'm just about to go out and do my speedwork now and I can't see the sun at the moment I'm popping in to work for a couple of hours straight away afterwards and I'll be back in the afternoon. Let's assume that the run will be hard.

First run for 5 weeks last night after wedding, honeymoon, getting back to work and other excuses.....Did a mile with my 8 year old step-daughter in the pouring rain! Strangely exhilerating. Quite pleased I can do a mile quite easily, chatting all the way after so long off and 3% increase in body fat! (weight same though). Guess I'd better start training again now then! Very well done to my Mum 'D' on her run. X
