Sam.
I had a good one today. 20 miles. That's the longest run I have EVER done and I'm still on a high

You can't beat the countryside for sure Gobi. I have a woody run i've done 20 or so times and seen maybe 3 people in total over all of those runs and when i lived in glasgow i used to love getting onto the canal and ricer paths to escape the city
BUT if you have to run in a town or city London is certainly more interesting than most and made a nice change for a visitor:) I felt the same running past the louvre and up the champs d'elysee when i went to the french open tennis last month:)

Hi Marts
I have just moved to Glasgow. Did some of my miles on the canal today and some down by the River Kelvin, not bad for a city although I am still pining for the NE Fife coast!!

Hi Sam, lived in west end for 5 yrs till 1997 and kelvin walkway and FC canal used to be my training staple with sunday runs out to clydebank and then back along the disused (now tarmac'd) railway near the clyde. Clevedon road for hills was evil though so used to use botanics instead.
Mugdock park is good for XC running if you've got a car:)

yeah been up to Mugdock a few times both the park and the resevoir, lovely up there!
and I do my hill reps up Clevedon...hideous isn't it?? I'm not sure that it is wise to run up any hill that has a hand rail...isn't that a sign that we shouldn't run up it??
where are you now?

Well done Sam!!!
I had a kip and went out at 6pm, I did 8.3 as per my schedule (tinsy bit over). good run went 3 times round a block near home as I was 'running in' my new shoes and wanted to change them after a third of the way, still very hot but an enjoyable run, determined to get under way with the Runners World marathon schedule now, well as close as I can given other commitments.

Sam - Peterborough. Flat as a pancake. That clevedon hill used to be in the uni road race at about 3 miles. very unkind (might still be in it)

I did my first run for two weeks since had to pull out of 10K due to some incomprehensible rubbishness ......... never stopped before so have had a job to get out and run again. However, ran up onto Bonsall Moor via some small roads and paths - was such a joy to be out again. Beautiful day; flowers, birds and small furry running mate, did not meet one car or any other people. Very hilly route so thighs tight down steep hill at end but sooooooo happy I managed to make myself go out.
