13miles or so on the coastal path from Lyne Regis to Seatown and back. Stunning day for a run out and the ice-cream half-way on the beach was ace (as were the chips with curry sauce at Lyme Regis when we finished)

Just over 11 miles for me in slightly cooler but breezy conditions. Fairly comfortable although running around the block a few times at the end to make up some miles. 5 other runners out and about.
Another run planned for tomorrow as a rare Sunday off. Might go for a swim afterwards as well.

10k on the trails around Mugdock park with Dylandog: very satisfying to dodgearound the poor beasts of burden trudging the start of the WHW.

Went out for a gentle 5 miler or so but since it was a lovely blue skied day, ran slight over 10 miles to the pier at Cleethorpes, along the sea front to the docks and back home. Quite a few people out at 7:30am onwards but only 2 runners, one of whom was running the opposite way to me along the sea wall. Just over 21 miles this weekend so that will do me

Nice 12.55 mile run with my club, felt a bit sluggish to start but good by the end. My last double digit run before Edinburgh marathon in a fortnight.

Hinkley HM - our ( 240 th )
Today saw us take part for the first time at Hinkley HM, it was our 240 th HM together and we clocked a nice savoury 2:17... I was delighted with that time considering my fitness isn’t what it was and 4th race this week …and the nature of the course
A nice event I thought , could they improve it, I’m not too sure they can TBH, …
We didn’t go looking for any particular time , as we’ve had a week of running, so, I just set out to see what would happen and how it would go ….
The route itself …..Well, it’s one of those deceiving nigglers I can tell you , it has nice flat bits and some long drags and some hills …. Its mostly on country lanes , the scenery was beautiful, …I so enjoyed it, quality time with my son, the nature of the course did not matter a bit ….
The weather was with us, albeit a bit of breeze in places ,
The event was well organised, the start and finish were both good and well organised,
Plenty of friendly marshals on route , drink points were plentiful , spectator wise, well, it is a rural race, so you cannot expect too much can you ….
Would we go back there again, yes of course we would, in actual fact I so wish now we’d gone there before … but of course, lots of weeks in race calendar there are several races on, and you can only go to one ahh …
So, a happy enjoyable day, doing something that we do savour and can savour in between events on days at home that are simply not so good
I was thinking on route, how all this keeps me alive , keeps me laughing even when the going gets tough at times .. Not that today really got tough , there’s far tougher HM’s out there I can assure you all
