Morning everyone, i had a great if hard run into work today. i clocked my fastest time ever, now, i said i'd never buy a HRM, but in chemist yesterday and saw it for £10 and thought, what the hell, after reading RW atricle last issue and hendo praising HR traning i thought i would bow down to it...anyway, wore it today, have to say i didnt watch for my HR but i was very aware that i had a muckle thing attatched to my arm (i dont normally even wear a watch...) so, my question is, did i run quicker because of this or is it because i've not run since thursday and am well rested? not starting the training until after the marathon but i'm interested in any comments etc oh, i have no clue about anything btw but last night i was wearing it just watching tv, my Hr was about 55average, this morning after getting to work and i checked, my max was 210 av was 78 is this good/bad/ugly?

Morning all
Good run SB - congrats. I think 210 is rather high - hopefully a glitch with your HRM. Otherwise blood would have been pumping out of your ears!
My run to work was lovely - rain stayed away and it was good to keep the legs turnning. Gentle start then upped it to MP.
Last night I did 25 mins hill work on the treadmill as it was raining. Never used this function before, but it was fab. Rather sweaty!

I really know very little about HR stuff, but 210 strikes me as being rather high. Maybe an expert can confirm / put me back in my box.
2 big hills on your run to work... nice My run in is flat as a pancake

I occasionally get spikes in my HR like your 210. It used to worry me but it is only a glitch in the HRM. I had a good run this morning. Up to 3.5 miles (Wow!) now and HR was steady so am really pleased with how it's going. I have hills too. Can run up them now which is also good because I used not to be able to.
