8.3 for me today, last LSR of my taper. This from my log;
I knew I was in trouble when my heart rate was in the high 80's before I even left the house. Felt tired, uncomfortable and drained pretty much throughout, and couldn't get the HR to 70%. Hopefully I'm not coming down with anything and it's just taper madness, could be other reasons though.
So to answer the thread question, pretty rubbish!

No run for me, head hurts after last nights quiz, which we won - yay. But I drank too much - boo - no yay.
Why do quiz nights mean you have to drink way too much?

Am in the taper period for a half mara. Picked up a slight strain so being very careful what I do - swam, cycled and ran on a treddie to keep some fitness but not hammer the strain - no advsere effects so far.

20 miles today and I feel wonderful, especially because I'm soon off to a friend's for Sunday lunch and I intend to eat tons of lovely warm food prepared by somebody else and promptly fall asleep on their sofa.
Feeling much better about Abingdon now. In fact, I ran the first 20 miles of the course today. The six mile loop around the airfield will be a killer, mind.

Brilliant Riga!! Well done. Sir MH - good plan to get someone else to do the food, that's where I mostly go wrong :-/ Hendo - sorry you had a rubbish run - as you say could be taper madness, it gets me like that too. Hope it's nothing more than that

Well done Riga!
Well done on your run Sir MH, don't tell me anything nasty about Abingdon, I don't need to know
I am feeling more positive about Abingdon now, I ran 21 miles this morning and felt I still had more in me
I feel good but my feet look as if the have the rot setting in as it had rained hard overnight and my feet got soaked, at mile 20 my friend said she could see steam coming from my feet!! LOL
I was very lucky as I had 2 friends to run the first 13 miles with me, and then another 2 friends took over for the final 8 miles Thank you friends xx

Well done LL. due to run the Bury 20 course Tues with a friend on his bike. longest run since FLM 2004 hope it goes as well as yours.
We had the club 10mile race today which everyone seemed to enjoy. We had prizes to 3rd in all age categories & the lady who came in last was the 2nd FV55 & it was a wonderful moment handing her her trophy.Also completing his 1st 10mile race(hard & hilly) was a 55yo clubmate who had a heart transplant in 2001. How humbling is that?!
