Following three great runs in a row on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, I've just had two runs (yesterday and today) that I found really tough. Hopefully that's just because I did 32 miles at the weekend and my legs are still tired.
I'm going to have TWO rest days now, before a very short pacey run on Saturday and then the Windsor half marathon on Sunday. Hopefully my legs will feel fresher before Sunday.

Well I finally managed one after not having been out for 10 days!!! had a stinking cold and sore throat that I just couldn't shift and was getting a bit panicky about GNR. Anyway, all is fine - the legs still work which is good news!

not a great idea to use that much energy so close to the race Aarongunner
I had an easy 8.25 today and it was very pleasant

i'm trying to decide whether or not to run the route of my 10k before sunday...maybe early on friday morning...or maybe thats too close to sunday...or maybe for a short distance it doesn't matter too much. anyway just listening to the rain is making me feel cold (and we had wind speeds of 38mph today) and i dont yet have any winter running clothes....i think i have managed to talk myself out of it already....i'll try to convince myself again tomorrow!!! (just mumbling to myself)

Seconded Gobi - I've seen lots of articles singing the praises of running the route of a race beforehand, but personally I'm not at all convinced it's a good thing to do. I like to study the profile so I know where the hills are, but actually running the course - no way!

KatieS, why do you think it is not a good thing. I find it much easier when I am familiar with the territory, particularly in the later stages of a race when I can accurately gauge exactly where I am and when I can start (and sustain) the kick for the line. I find it very hard when I am running 'blind' on an unknown course.
