Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Gorgeous cold but sunny day. Out on the roads for 8km, practised forefoot striking and kicking heels up, found a good rhythm and for once it felt quite natural. Until about 5km that is, when the calf burn kicked in, but I persevered. Good stuff.

Glorious.

Fan blooming tastic.

An empty Greenwich Park at lunchtime, frost still on the grass, blue sky and bright sunshine. Nice and slow 4 miles. Possibly one of my most enjoyable runs ever.

Bob!
copied from 'Heart Rate' thread

What's going on here then?

EP has new legs, I reckon I've found a new heart!

This is my 4th week of doing Parker sub 70's after a short (3 week) rest from running. My standard sub 70 run is 6 miles. My first on the 18th November was done in 1.04.04 at 10 .41 pace, every subsequent 6 miler has been quicker.

19/11 1.02.58 10.30 pace
23/11 1.00.22 10.04 pace
25/11 59.46 9.58 pace
27/11 59.26 9.54 pace
01/12 58.13 9.42 pace

Today I done another 6 miler, splits were 10.08 ( I still get HR spikes for the first 3/4 mile every time!), 8.33 !!, 8.50 !!, 8.57, 9.07, 9.03
so, 54.44 @ 9.07 pace

what is going on!!
I'm running faster at sub 70% than when I used to 'go out for a run'

admittedly I've been watching my weight and have lost 16lbs in the last 8 weeks, but I had already lost more than half of that when I started the Parker method.

Pants. Cold one today. Out at 5am, 10k in 1:00:06, felt tired most of the way round, Maybe the slight lack of traction had an effect, or maybe I am fighting a virus at the mo, I would have expected around 58 minutes.
