Grid Well it wasn't as hot as last year, but it was definitely warm and muggy. I was aiming for a 51:30 PB but came home in a disappointing 57:02. My legs felt tired from the word go, and my HR was much higher than I was expecting - I'm thinking that I must have a mild case of the lurgi. It was a real struggle from the start and I'm just pleased that I got round without walking, and that I managed to beat my time from last year. Also, absolutely had to stop for a quick wee at the half way point. I guess things can't go right at every race. Even though that's two very hard races in two years, I'm still coming back next year because it's a wonderful race. Sorry to the five Fetchies who bet on me :( Bournville Harriers 45:33 52:36 51:30 57:02 46.86

Krukers Much better than usual 1st K, as started nearer front so not held up by slower runners. Kept it together for 5k then had a couple of slow ones (4.08 ,4.05), but finished fairly strongly. Mountainmat In 2006 this was my first ever race. I ran 47:28 and would love to beat that time by 10 minutes. I wrote the last sentence about 4 months ago, its now the day before the race, no chance of meeting that goal, I will be satisfied with sub 41 minutes, but I can still dream. I had a very good race and am very happy with my time. Hermitage Harriers RC 37:35 38:36 39:59 39:22 67.87
