Yesterday I did a shorter 8 km run before my third jab at lunchtime (Moderna). Felt poor a few hrs after so had a short walk. Today I split my run in two: 9.5 km am, 7.75 km pm. Quite a bit of new snow has fallen so I took it easy. By the time of my second run most places had been ploughed.

Another lovely pic Steve Good luck on Sunday minimag Today was just under 10 miles mainly off road with 25 mins tempo. Tempo was easy off road on Kiveton woodlands a repeat of the first one I did in jan after injury only this time in the dark with head torch on. 3.28 miles completed at what felt like a little slower than 10k pace which was the target pace. For comparison the splits for the full miles 17/1/22 7:32 8:00 8:01 3/2/22. 7:31 7:36 7:35 |

Sounds nice Riggys! Good to have the option Dvorak ![]() Today, even with rain pissing down, it was a really nice run, but suddenly a sharp pain occurred in my left foot, tried to limp for a bit, but I hurt to much. Have felt that before, but it usually goes away after a little while, feels like a pinched nerve or something. Well I stopped, and then tried to do the last few km slow, but then stopped after a while again and walked the last bit. Better to be safe than sorry. Day 400 in a row for me today, that’s a nice round number ![]() Be careful out there! |

NordRunner wow that is gorgeous, where is it? Yesterday, as we were in the office, I ran to and from work. 10km downhill in the morning, 10km uphill at night, each with a laptop bag on my back. Took it easy both ways, but noticed that on the way back my left achilles was aching. I injured it last year and when i remembered, it was doing the same thing, running back home with a work backpack on, so believe I have worked out the problem... having a heavy backpack without chest straps (allowing it to bounce) is probably ratcheting my calf muscle and causing the issue. I'll try a better bag next week for the commute |

Thanks Riggys, i dont think its an injury per see, more of a niggle. A little tap on the shoulder do to a few recovery runs ![]() KPM, that sounds uncomfortable,maybe try a better backpack, have you looked at real running backpacks, or maybe that is what you have? I have a Salomon and it really great, but i have not tried it with something heavy lika a laptop. |

I think a good rucksack is important for run commuting Rest day running wise so did a basic core, back and hamstring exercise routine. Addrd 3 x 10 Nordic hamstring curls at the end. 3 sets of press ups (1 set at the beginning, 1 set in the middle and 1 set at the end) Hope people are getting some runs in. |

KPM I added a caption which you see on click-through. Today was busy so I only had time for about 9 km. Rain and warm breezes overnight has melted all the snow. I was wasting time trying to persuade my new Garmin Epix to update its firmware over wi-fi so I could then download a map for following today's Fetchpoint route. So the picture is from just before the snow went. |
