That's the one with a sandpit, a water feature and running over the top of a museum or something. A few of us from my club were thinking about doing it as there was a relay option which looked a right laugh, but going all that way for 2k of getting muddy seemed a bit extravagant

Seaa Xc relays last Sat. The usual mostly flat mostly dry course, but I do enjoy it despite that. I reckon the women's is about 3.4k so ran 6 mins/mile which was only enough to get me 17th on leg 1! Scary fast times at these events in the last few years. Fastest woman this year ran 10:59 which is insane.
Team finished 13th which wasn't bad given the above.

Uyuni - Just looks like a good event to be involved in but agree, a long way to go along with the associated extra costs.
Good work Curly. Midlands XC relays were on Saturday. I didn't run them though, got to have a break at some point.
I'm not quite fully fit ATM, although I can do mileage which is good. Hoping I'll be good to go by first league fixture in three weeks time.

I ran the Midlands XC Relays. Was really warm on Saturday. I was on the first leg, not far off last place. Still I was trying.
That said it was less than a week after the Yorkshire Marathon, and it felt good to be running.

oi you
I'm quite intrigued by the idea of doing the World Champs. It's interesting to see that the IAAF are trying to increase participation in the sport. Thanks for the idea SPR.
I've been having a bit of a grump about the SEAA trying to do the opposite - decrease participation - so I won't be at the Southern's next year. They implemented a 90 minute cutoff for the senior men's race a few years back, and are now proposing entry criteria and abolishing the M70 catergory.

Surely if time is a constraint then reducing the 9 miles distance is an easy solution..?

Heresy Curly!! 'twas written in the stars in days of yore that the SEAA XC distances remain as they were, as they are and shall forever be...
