27th Jan. Sounds like my 17yo will hate the course tomorrow then - he likes a decent hill, I'm less fussy!

He'll be jealous of me at Shipley Park then tomorrow lark for the North Mids league. He shouldn't, it's hilly, muddy as hell, windswept and likely to be chuffing freezing

It was absolutely filthy lark, not windy for once but the hills and the mud was there in abundance

Bit flatter today but a fair effort course - gave it a bit more oomph, quite enjoyed it. 147th out of 413 which is my best in the league so far. County champs up next in Jan.

oi you
I ran in the Kent Vets champs yesterday at Dartford. The course was very nearly dead flat with no hint of mud at all, just some damp grass. I was quicker than last year on the same course if only by a few seconds, but quicker is quicker. I was a bit perturbed to see my download show a heart-rate peak of 185 in the first half mile before it dropped back to a more believable 150ish. I'm sure it couldn't really get that fast. It never has before. One to watch I think.

OY Sounds like it could be HRM dryness / static?
Welcombe Hills course is brilliant. It was a new course to me and harder I think than some of the old N Staffs league courses like Leek. The hills and rough terrain just didn’t stop. I am aching all over today!

Everyone have fun at the county championships today? We were at Warley Woods for Warks / Worcester. Having had a heavy cold over Xmas and not done much speed work since before that it felt a bit like hard work!

Ours are tomorrow (Surrey).
5 miles is a long way for XC isnt it? I always dislike the step up after xmas...well done for getting out ndellar.
I watched at Middlesex today. Some great running by our U17 ladies saw them take a gold medal and team trophy.
(our club is annoying split across two counties because very few people can afford to live in Richmond anymore )
