Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I recall calling back in at Leamington (having been to Bushy parkrun to do my 100th run) to watch the Midlands XC champs this year. Needless to say I think it was worse spectating in the thunder and lightning than running in it! Shame I cannot make it this weekend (after going to Daventry parkrun)...as have a 3 yr olds birthday party to attend :-(

FC - surely if you have to crowbar your feet into your spikes, they're too small...

As long as the weather is decent and my cold recedes further, I will watch at Leamington. I'm not racing as not going to risk my achilles on the hill, given it's taken since Jan to get better! My cold means I don't feel like racing anyway.

I had considered that SPR, but they're fine once they're on - it's more a case that I have to really loosen the laces before I can slide my foot inside, and the laces tend to stiffen up between races. I'll try fitting a new pair of laces and see if they fare any better. Failing that, I might need to go a size larger than my regular running shoes - has anyone found that's the norm?

I go larger. I find spikes narrow in general so I buy one bigger than my usual massive size ;)

Strangely yes... I have some 2012 Adidas track spikes in size 9, but needed to get size 9.5 in Adidas's 2012 xc spikes. The new 2014 xc are okay in size 9 though - the upper is a bit more flexible than on the 2012 version.

That's the most boring thing I've ever written.
