Can't wait for my first XC, I actually missed the first N Staffs fixture due to being in Inverness for the Loch Ness Marathon. All being well it is the Midlands XC relays soon, a fairly gentle introduction back. Hopefully I can at least keep with the people I was finishing with at the end of last season and build on that.

Fun in the not so much mud at Richmond. 383 runners, a few organisational issues, but hey ho. Our first year back in Div 1 and a top half of the table finish is super pleasing. I also beat all my last year nemesis. Woot. Loving the results site: surreyleague.org too |

Nice one Curly, I like it when nemesis thrashing happens! XC relays Sat, feels like I've done little running since the marsthon 2 weeks ago, it won't be pretty but the first one of the season never is. At least I'm well rested. |

Not sure why the relays are on the same weekend as the Brum half. Seems like poor planning and will surely dilute the numbers.

It was boiling out there today at the Midlands XC relays, and mostly ok underfoot. I suspect there were some fast times. Glad to have got the first one done in a reasonable time; it felt horrible as always, but now I can concentrate in the coming weeks on trying to build a bit of XC speed post marathon |

Lovely first XC race of the season at the Hertfordshire-based Sunday League. Planned to take it easy with a marathon last Sunday but found myself surprisingly spry and finished up almost 60 places higher than last year on the same course. Good ground for running on - expecting some more challenging conditions underfoot as the season progresses.

That's good going VC! We had our 3rd of the season at Stafford common, had quite a good run considering I've felt knackered recently - my 2nd fastest time ever there as it was drier than the past couple of years. Feels like my legs are actually remembering what to do!
