We run on a couple of courses that go through water: Nurstead Court - An ankle deep water splash twice or Minnis Bay - A mile or more of ankle deep marsh (part frozen last January) and then 3 to 5 ditches that are usually knee deep in black water.
I find that my feet dry out and warm up pretty quickly in Nike XC spikes, at about the same rate as when I'm wearing Adidas Kanadias but they're quite a bit heavier....
we held our first XC of the season yesterday, it was rediculously hard underfoot. the only water we could find for people to run through was about 3 inches deep and could easily be bypassed. i put some videos on Youtube if anyone is interested.
Another cracking XC course today. An open race in Gorebridge, outside Edinburgh. Glad I went for the Bare Grips as this was mixed terrain, with a steep decent, and a steep climb on broken stoney paths and the rest on grass/ churned mud. Really heavy going at times, but managed 41.13 for 6.3 miles. Usual position with respect to my club mates, so happy with the time, and will wait for the official results to see where I finished.
Another two weeks till my next XC which will be an east league match in Livingston, just round the corner from where I used to live
