Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

My spikes don't really agree with me. It's a shame because I love them to bits and really fly when I'm wearing them but I've injured myself the last couple of times I've worm them. Should I change to trail shoes for the rest of the season?

Well if they don't agree with you, there's only one sensible option.

Do you know what the problem is with them? Fit/shape issues?

I don't know. It's frustrating. I think they're forcing me too much onto my forefoot for too long. I'm just not used to such aggressive shoes yet. I'm trying to change the way I run a little at a time and it's likely they'll be fine for me next winter. We'll see. I suppose it just gives me an excuse to buy another pair of shoes. :-)

oi you
You've packed a lot of races in recently - a ParkRun PB the day before a CC race for example. You could be simply pushing too hard on tired legs.

I wear my Innov8 mudclaws for all my XCs and they are fine. They also came in useful in the snow/icy pavement last winter. Some of our fast lads wear the X-talons. Think of a new pair as an investment for such conditions! ;)

I know I'm pushing it a bit. I don't always acknowledge the effort a parkrun takes when I hammer it. I just think it's 5k and all over bar some slight vom issues in under 22 minutes now. Perhaps I should give it some respect and myself more of a rest. Thanks, oi you. :-)

I've been looking at the Inov8s a lot recently. I'm suffering from shoe lust. It's not easy for a man to come to terms with feelings like this...

I almost bought a pair of X-Talon 212s a couple of months ago. I've been paid and I think beans on toast is a nutritious meal and I don't mind eating them for another entire month. Hmmm.
