Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Brilliant. Calfs survived and I was pleasantly Interrupted by my girlfriend running up behind me and giving me a smacker!

Awesome! Really fast (for me) hilly 4 miler. Perfect start to the day.

Nice one Yorkshire Lass! Notice you ran an awesome 1st Marathon, and a tough one by all accounts. Did you follow a specific training plan?( My first coming up soon and I am desperate for info.)

I had a very warm and windy 5 miler today along the breakwater. Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside! :)

Aw, thanks Lo-Jo! It was tough - last 8 miles against the wind. I crossed the line saying I'd never do another, but I've changed my mind about that already!

I sort of followed a training plan from Tom Holland's "Marathon Method" book, but did more mileage that he suggested. His plans only get up to 20 miles in training and I didn't feel that was enough - I got a 21 and a 23 mile run in in advance.

Just make sure you get some decent long runs in, taper properly and don't set off too fast on the day. That was my mistake - I reckon I could have done under 4:30 if I'd not got swept up with everyone else's speed at the start ;-)

Excellent. I was putting my boss through some drills and I think I broke him. Let's see him question an expense claim again.
