v.nice, sunny evening and cool in the shade. Jog to club, then tonight we did a tempo run with a sprint after every minute....grreat Then slow jog home. Good seeing them all again, it's been a while. And some newbies too. Good one.

Pyramid session at running club followed by 6 x 30 second sprints. Hard work, but enjoyable.

A very enjoyable 10k recovery run along the river then across town.
Feel slightly guilty I didn't do the 5k time trial at C&C tonight but I would probably have blown up pushing too hard.

A herd of cows pushed me into a rather spiky hedge midway around todays run! A couple were stood near by the stile, but backed off as I approached it. I slowly walked past them right on the edge of the field so as not to spook them, but about 30m in one of them made a few quick strides toward me and the rest (a couple of dozen) seemed to line up behind her. I lept over an electric fence and into a thinner section of bush to put something between me and them, as they slowly shuffled forward in that dumb but dangerous way cows seem to.
The hedge and the electric fence ran into each other on either side so moving along to either style with the fence between me wasn't an option. Every time I shuffled sideways the cattle looked up and shuffled along, largely pinning me in place. Eventually with them distracted by persistant chewing, I made a slow cautious step back over the fence as close to the edge as I could, made a few cautious steps to get me within about 15m of the style I came in by, and just kicked, vaulting back out of the field and putting a little stream and bridge between me and them. I turned around to see a couple moving rather swiftly toward the style, and thought for a moment that they'd sussed how to cross the things. It meant a longer run back than intended, but it's better than living in a hedge!
I think I need to find a new route.
