A Crap one! Should have been the Hastead marathon but run out of energy at 8 miles and called it a day at the end first lap! It could have had something to do with giving blood on Thurs and 3 days isn't sufficent time to recover... ( and its my birthday...)

Race for Life 5k. I know I'm not really training all that much at the moment but I didn't expect to feel so near death at the end! Quite embarrassed to be beaten by several small children, as well. Ah well, there'll always be time to redeem myself.

Complete nightmare. Halstead mara and felt tired from the first and positively knackered in the calves after a mere 10m. No idea why as have done a number of 20m runs in training (though not enough?) and cheerfuly did 7 on Easter Monday and 10m the Sunday before thqt at a much faster pace without feeling fatigued at all. Carbo-loading? "Tapering" by doing a few sort runs and walks in Devon (a bit hilly there). Anyway, just coming to the conclusion it had all gone badly wrong and I would run-walk to the finish for a crap time when found myself being overtaken by a speedy Anna F coming in from another road. How so? Seems I had taken a wrong turn and cut about 2.5m off the race distance. So it's a DNF which made the run-walk home twice the fun *:( Only bright spot was that it was a brilliantly-organised race and fantastic support from Fetchpointers - thanks guys - I'l try to do better next time.

I went out yesterday morning and for the first time ever, tripped over and fell - went down so fast didn't even have time to try and stabilise myself. Cut knee with 4 bruises, scuffed side and shoulder. Shoulder sore as well. Did manage to just about run the 4 miles home though.

Ouch, Scott. I hope your cuts and bruises won't take long to heal.
I had a pretty awesome run. Knocked eight and a half minutes off my half marathon distance time (that makes more sense in my head; you all know what I mean) and discovered that jelly babies work better for me than gels. Picked up some kind of insect bite along the way though.
