Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Too Much Water
struggled at parkrun in the heat and underfuelled, but still did one of my faster times on the course. had to walk back as i felt a bit

just did an encouraging 5 miler at a pleasing pace, but still warm even at 9pm. on balance i'd rather run in this weather than any other though

Son of a Pronator Man
On my 18 miler today, I went into the toilets in the park for a comfort stop and to get a drink of water. There was no drinking fountain, so I turned on the tap and cupped my hands under it.
"Stop !" said a firm, authoritarian voice -"That is not drinking water". It was the toilet attendant. "Didn't you see the sign". Sure enough, there was a sign that said "Not drinking water". I had seen it, but wasn't much bothered. "Yes", I said, "I saw it, but I'm very thirsty, and I'll take the risk". "That is not fit for human comsumption", he said"health and safety rules do not allow you to drink it".
Anyway, this brief conversation ended with me saying that as a Council taxpay of the local authority, who had paid for the tolets, the water and his wages, I was going to drink it unless he physically restrained me. Which, I am glad to say, he did not try to.

Did the Jane Tomlinson Pennine 10k in Blackburn. Windy but enjoyed the course and delighted with the time - my 2nd best ever at the distance.

Run a very crowded race at the London 10k. Still come in 49ish, couldn't go any quicker due to traffic. Good atmosphere though.

A nice 10 miles this morning, route had to be changed due to the strength and direction of the wind this morning. Original route would have had me running uphill into the wind for the last 5 miles. Now looking forward to upping the milage to 11 next sunday :-)
