Yorkshire Pie
I got a new job, a club record, a couple of trophies, two cash prizes, 3 trips to Belgium and 3 to Spain, and 6 weeks off between jobs over summer. And a win in the advent calendar. Could have been worse.

It started off okay, but went downhill at the end of May. It's ending with a whimper, as I have my recurring end of year lurgy

I've enjoyed this year. Nothing bad has happened and some good stuff (including my 50th birthday - the celebration of which lasted about 6 weeks and involved two weekends away - and my daughter's GCSE results) occurred.

I am fortunate to have a nice life. 2016 has offered up some crappy stuff but it's mostly been at a distance from me - macro things when I have a micro existence. The day to day stuff has mostly been good. The less good stuff has been "first world problems" - I'm lucky I guess.

No-one has bombed my home, I'm not living in a refugee camp, I have access to clean water and sanitation, I have more than enough to eat and sufficient funds to buy fuel and shelter. My life is pretty damn cushy

Well 2016 for me was;
Ran my 50th Parkrun Had a lovely day volunteering at Brighton Marathon. Fantastic holidays to Iceland and Canada. Had good fun with family and friends Still got my health, job and a roof over my head.
The news has been generally depressing most of the time, but all I can do is be aware of it, and that's is. I guess its keeping things in perspective that helps.

I'm very fortunate too, my wife and I had our 25th this year and did a big road trip around the states to celebrate, whilst there we caught a show at the Grand ol' opry in Nashville and saw Lorreta Lynn sing, next night we got tickets for the 'the Shires' at the bluebird cafe, got to go Miami, new Orleans and Memphis,youngest daughter got her first flat and I got a new job which I start on the 8th of Jan, all in all a good year, I hope yours is good as well Minardi

There's been some pretty shitty bits if I'm honest but we got a puppy and had a lovely trip to Skye. All my nearest and dearest are healthy. I have a job which puts a decent roof over my head and food in our bellies, and provides non-essentials too. Oh and we live in a pretty beautiful part of the world.
