We currently have everyone in the household in part time employment, my work situation unexpectedly improved, we didn't lose any close family members, and I had a total of 6 weeks riding my bike in warm Spanish places. In comparison with any of the previous five years, it's been pleasantly uneventful.

Let me see: I'm married to a magnificent woman who appears to quite like me; I'm in reasonable health; I've re-connected with some fabulous folk from my past; No-one close to me has died, or even been particularly ill. I've had a number of fantastic cycling weeks in sunny places with aforementioned fabulous wife; We have a tandem My Step kidults have had a pretty decent year My kids (who I only get to watch from afar) the same. So - on balance - yup! A good year!

Great mountain biking holiday away with mates in summer, some good mud runs with my sister and her friends. New job role with a big pay rise with the same team and depot that I seem to be really enjoying. And seem to have got my enthusiasm back for running.
