Has anyone actually had a decent 2016?

Wobbling Dec 2016 3:39pm, 30 Dec 2016 4,372 posts	0 Wobbling Most of my 2016 was dire but After lots of delays and disappointments, we moved to a lovely house in a village that is everything we wished for. So we did have one good thing happen in 2016.

We currently have everyone in the household in part time employment, my work situation unexpectedly improved, we didn't lose any close family members, and I had a total of 6 weeks riding my bike in warm Spanish places. In comparison with any of the previous five years, it's been pleasantly uneventful.

Let me see: I'm married to a magnificent woman who appears to quite like me; I'm in reasonable health; I've re-connected with some fabulous folk from my past; No-one close to me has died, or even been particularly ill. I've had a number of fantastic cycling weeks in sunny places with aforementioned fabulous wife; We have a tandem My Step kidults have had a pretty decent year My kids (who I only get to watch from afar) the same. So - on balance - yup! A good year!

Great mountain biking holiday away with mates in summer, some good mud runs with my sister and her friends. New job role with a big pay rise with the same team and depot that I seem to be really enjoying. And seem to have got my enthusiasm back for running.
