Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Thanks Curly45 - what model is it, please? Always good to hear as it narrows down a big selection!!! 🤪

We’ve had good weather all week - apart from one properly wet day, I’ll take that for late Feb! Will keep 🤞 for you and the snow!

For light and packable I have the the Alpkit Gravitas, mine only has a small chest pocket, but seems to have stood up to wearing with a pack quite well- so far
The Harrier jacket is a bit more substantial, but better pockets and has a pleated back that expands to fit over a pack, but takes up a lot of room

I also have an old OMM halo, that my Youngest grew out of, which screws up into a tiny ball, it's great for just in case days especially in the summer

Is it possible to have one jacket for all occasions?

phal it's this one rab.equipment

I've got the smallest size and it proper fits. Good enough to put a couple of tops underneath if needed (lightweight fleece if walking high in the summer or two running tops if needed in the winter), but small enough to not feel bulky. I've resprayed it once. But yes it's crazy expensive new. I've had it over a year and it feels brand new.

I did email them about the pockets, particularly as I am a leftie so can't do it up 😂 I usually carry a bag anyway in the fells for first aid kit, extra layer etc, so not a deal breaker for me.

phal Keep looking on Vinted! I got a Kamleika smock for £20 a while back and it's in great condition. If you search for key brands and sizes, you'll be surprised at what comes up. Infact I would say most of my running kit has come off Vinted 😂😂

It snowed overnight last night, @Curly45, and there was snow down to the valley levels (this pic was at 9am this morning near Pooley Bridge)

The drizzle this afternoon seems to be washing it away. Hope there will be more for you by the 11th.

That looks stunning SimonF - it hadn’t got that low in Langdale - mainly just the tops - it had got down as far as Black Crag to give a very light dusting. Lingmoor was looking lovely too 😀

It was so white over the top of Saddleworth today that I got the phone out mid-race to take pic, which is something I almost never do.

I got a Montane Minimus for last year's long events, and was very impressed with the performance and pack size. It's athestretch fabric model which I really like. We both used to run in Alpkit Veritas but they delaminate very easily under a pack or even a bum bag. We got so fed up with returning and swapping them that in the end we just ignored it and it didn't make too much difference. I still use mine, with a number of holes in it, for training runs. or less severe races.

I won a Montane Minimus Lite jacket a few years back which has been ok but some of the lining is peeling off.

Really happy with the Inov-8 Stormshell.
