Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

About Me

In 1981 aged 17, I watched the very first London Marathon and decided that wished to do one. I trained hard and 5 months later ran my local Inverclyde Marathon that same year finishing in 3:23:21 despite run/walking the last 6 miles due to hypoglycemia and inexperience (only water was handed out in those days). I returned for 1982 and 1983 but didn't manage to beat my inaugural marathon time. I then had a break of a mere 19 years before then deciding, "hey I'd like to run another". I chose the 1st Baxter's Loch Ness Marathon (BLNM) in 2002 as my 4th marathon and having now recently done my 50th Marathon, I am looking forward to getting back on track and doing well in Amsterdam 2011. Also completed 2 full Ironmans in my career (Frankfurt and Nice) but now heavier and much older and with my current PB way back at Paris in 2003 being 3:21. I am still looking for that very elusive 3:15 FLM qualifying time.
