Usually I’m quite abrupt and say what you selling not interested. I wind them up for a bit occasionally it’s BT or my mobile company

People saying 'fall' instead of Autumn.
Fall is a verb, not a season. (OK, it can be a noun too as in 'X had a bit of a fall', but it's still definitely not a season)

PK, worst customer service I've ever experienced was with virgin mobile. spent literally months sorting out a v simple problem. For months they told me (on the v rare occasions I could actually get through to them) they'd sent me an item only for them to admit it was out of stock.

Following on from Rae’s post, Americanisation of the language in general - I’ve heard lots of my friends kids saying zee and zee-bra for zed and zeb-ra, trash instead of rubbish, candy rather than sweets, and one that is particularly annoying me at the moment is tom-ate-o

Worst customer service we've had is with Miele. When asked for an engineer to have a look at why holes were appearing in clothes, even when in a net bag, they were adamant that their machines don't do that and that we would be wasting our money when proven that their machine was not at fault.

[feel like there should be a part 2 to Phil's post here. What was causing the holes?]

[Raemondo, apparently autumn was known as "Fall" in English English back in the 18th century. There's an argument that USA English is preserving the purity of the language..... 😉😆]

(failing to move with the times, you mean, 3M. My main complaint is simply that it sounds ugly rather than anything to do with purity. Autumn, and by extension autumnal, sounds much nicer. Fallal sounds stupid or like you've forgotten the rest of 'deck the halls')

After my post this morning my phone rang at 11.27.
"Hi, it's Chris here, your local energy advisor."
I asked him why he kept phoning me when I don't know who he is and where did he get my number from, then hung up.
