Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Emails from BT which say "a big thank you..." and "something special for you..." which purport to be offers for loyalty but are actually invitations to spend more money with them for the same service!

[As Anne Lister, (Gentleman Jack', BBC), Suranne Jones combined engaging wit with a steely business brain. I'm not sure her role in 'Vigil' makes best use of her dramatic prowess - but that's just my view.]

I really hate temporary traffic lights. Give me Stop-Go boards every time.

Three-way temporary lights where one "way" is a cul-de-sac from where Mrs Miggins goes shopping in her ancient Honda Jazz once a week is the worst.

While I'm here...

Radio presenters who sound distracted as if talking to the audience is only a bit part of their job. If you can't talk lucidly while pressing a few buttons, you're in the wrong job.

I'm with Dio re the TotP comment. but it's not just BT, many companies seem to do this, especially banks who start with a "we just want to make sure you're OK during this difficult time" message, quickly followed by offers of loans, mortgages, credit cards...

EOn's desperate emails and texts offering the "opportunity" for them to fit one of their godforsaken "smart" meters.

I've told them multiple times I have no desire to have one. Now I just ignore them. And curse a lot.

[+1 to that. I'm thinking of inviting the agents who call most often, in person, or on the 'phone, to pop in for a seasonal beverage over the next holidays: they're becoming more like personal friends... ;) ]
