The G-oone-rinch
Somebody caught doing 152mph on the M6 toll yesterday. I live pretty much next to its mid point and have never used it. I'd rather sit in the M6/M5 roadwork/parking lottery

doing an out-and-back run and taking a wrong turning on the way home, when time is tight and it is essential that the homeward half of the run takes no longer than the outward.

Mer-Rae Christmas
this, from an article in the Graun about how a present you've made is so much nicer than one you've bought and 2020 will be 'the year of the home made gift' which was published on the 5th of December:
"Just remember, though, that you need to plan ahead and make time – and don’t leave it to the last minute to get them in the post"
Oh, really? such timely and helpful advice.

The missing parcel sent to Surrey on the 25th November (target delivery time, 3 days), which I can't even raise a query about until 13 working days have passed..... (3 days expected delivery, plus 10 working days. Grr....)

Modern lightbulbs. If I turn on a light, it's because I want to see things, not for it to be slightly less dark, and take about eleventy billion seconds to approach anything like the light I was expecting when I flicked the switch.

People who change their names on forums to silly "christmas" themed ones. It's difficult to identify who on earth is posting what.

[Replace your CFLs with LEDs - problem solved with even more modern lightbulbs and you'll save more energy than CFLs did over the heaters (which is what tungsten filament lightbulbs effectively were - they put out more heat than light) ]

People who don't show any other signs of religious observance getting their knickers in a twist about the ecclesiastical calendar where Christmas is concerned.

Indeed.
I wish my MiL would read this...her latest idea was we drive from Manchester to Hampshire and have Christmas lunch in her garden.
Fuck Right Off. For all sorts of reasons.
