I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid 14 years ago. Took about a year for things to level out. Have been on 150mg of Levothyroxine for a few years now (has fluctuated between 125 and 200mg). Has not affected my training, apart from the year prior to diagnosis. As to tiredness, I just put that down to everyday trials and tribulations, some days I am tired some days I am not. I do suffer from raynauds symdrome in the hands after running in the cold, but so do my kids, so not sure that is related at all. |

Cuddy
Hi PLK. That doesn't sound good, I haven't heard of people feeling pressure on their throats. I've had a quite a few long sleep nights again, clocking in 10-11 hours easily. Hoping it's just from gymming it quite a bit, my check up is not until March. |

That's good JC! Yeah go get checked out PLK. It takes a while I think to sort it out. I know what you mean Cuddy. I can easily still go to sleep at the drop of a hat too. I do wonder about the side effects of Thyroxine though. One of them says about muscle weakness. I don't think I've lost any weight or mass etc but just feel that I get a bit weaker sooner than I used to... |

I've decided to make another Dr's appointment too. I still just don't 'feel' right. Hard to put my finger on what it is though. I'm still lethargic and lack of enthusiasm maybe even more than when I was first diagnosed. Running is hard work and I'm going slower as can't seem to do anything fast anymore. I've had more injuries this year than I used to too. Just sprained ankles/knees but enough to make me stop. Never used to get anything like that as I have a good sense of balance. Tired too. Ready for bed at 10 and a real struggle to get up the next day. |
