Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

I'm going to be trying this out either later this year or early next year. I've never done it before...(and I think I can hear you all saying "ha ha, she's gonna die!!!";)) Does anyone have advice on footwear? Obvious road shoes aren't going to be much good for mud if there's lots of it, however if there's road sections it sounds like spikes might be a pain too...

You may 'die' but it will be a fun death ;-)

You could go for something like:

The X-talon 212: inov-8.com
The X-talon 190: inov-8.com
Bare-Grip: 200: inov-8.com

Most courses should be spike friendly though. I use spikes now but started with the 212 and then went to the 190 which I still have. Spikes are better on muddy/really muddy courses.

Leamington is a bit of a spike destroyer for me (has some hardpack that spikes don't like), so I may use the the 190s next time.

I run in Mudclaws for xc. I much prefer them than spikes. Better support & better grip when it's very muddy.
