Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Good stuff everyone. Park Hall, N Staffs league today. Good conditions underfoot, bit chilly and breezy. Ran the fastest I've ever run on that course and felt strong so it's all good.

Next stop Leamington in the Birmingham League in a fortnight, all 3 mens divisions plus ladies. Hope it rains so there is actually some water in the water feature this year!

lol ndellar, it was good to be able to run straight through it last year. Leamington is a bit too small for all the men though. If you start slow, you end up screwed due to pile ups. I suppose if you start fast, you can recover during the pile ups, lol.

How is it for the women?

The Warwickshire champs is at Leamington this year as well.

:) Ive always found it ok actually, I know what you mean there are some quite narrow bits. Perhaps I am just so far back before we get off the start field it isn't a problem! You running it in a fortnight SPR?

This year I believe they have split the women's league and we are in D2 although because we are a lot smaller numbers our 2 divisions will always be at the same venues. I don't know if this will encourage more numbers out for the teams wanting promotion to D1. Will be interesting. At least the lower teams will have more of an incentive to try, it was hard with one massive women's division and the same teams winning every year.

Stourbridge come under Worcestershire, so we have counties at Malvern Common. As well as the Midlands we are looking to get up to the National in Sunderland, long way but a good course I'm told. Not sure what the definition of 'good' is though. Tough I think.

Yeah it's tough ndellar but a great course. North East Harrier League for me today. Absolutely stupidly muddy. Tough!

Ndellar - Yeah I'm running.

Just checked the mens vs women. Men had about 720 runners! Women had 275. Looks like it can cope with one Division but struggles with three.

Leamington XC done. I was SHIT! That's what happens when you do XC off a couple of weeks training. All good winter training though.

The ditch was muddy and wet. It probably stunk, but I was too busy suffering to notice, lol.
